Long Sleeve Baselayer, not Merino....
« on: 11:49:14, 15/08/17 »
So, nothing against Merino, quiet the opposite, I have and use two LS merino tops. Very good they are too.......except, whilst keeping you  warm when damp/wet, I'm looking to get a LS synthetic wicking.
Am I over analysing it, because as always, UOG gives me too many choices.....

Or should I get a thin fleece, now that the weather is turning. I'd prefer to get a synthetic LS wicking top though.
First world problems I know, but are there good ones out there?

I'm liking the RAB Interval LS with zip.

Good choice, love my Rab Interval Long sleeve (with zip). Comfortable, lightweight, excellent wicking properties, it's my go to top of choice.  I've used it as both a base layer during the colder months and as a T during the warmer walks, good alround performance top in my opinion.
I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel's sake.

Alan you are not over analyzing I've encountered the same issue. My favourite is http://www.cotswoldoutdoor.com/the-north-face-mens-kilowatt-1-4-zip-top-a2120091?id_colour=105. I also have a short sleeve arc'teryx top which is great. They also do long sleeve options. Maybe worth a look.

So........just picked up a RAB Flux Pull On, LS for €42 (reduced from €70, so the tag said  ::) ). 53 Degrees North Store here in Dublin.
£46 in UOG.
That'll do then...... :D  It was even sweeter because I used my wife's card.......... ;)

I'm currently a fan of Rohan stuff, mainly because it is so very light. This is the lightest baselayer I've ever seen, and it is well made too. I think they do merino as well. Not that cheap but they do have a lot of sales
I love the outdoors, and will be out there, while I can :-)

I've worn one of these for a few years now and find it an excellent wicking baselayer. Keeps me cool on treks abroad in warm climates and warm enough to wear on it's own at home at this time of year.
