Wet Highland Way
« on: 23:32:47, 28/02/16 »
Yes I spelt that correctly.  In Sept 2011 I was fortunate to walk the West Highland Way. We had 5 days of non stop rain and everything was soaked. We were stopped from camping 3 nights and had to go into cabins at Drymen for 2, and the next night we were in a hostel. My picture was taken just after I woke up on the banks of Loch Lomond.  I fortunately camped near the Loch where the ground was a bit sandy and drier, most of my colleagues used the site and it was like a bog in the morning.   It was an experience I shall never regret or forget. We arrived at Glen Nevis after a short walk on the last day, but it wasn`t over, the next day we climbed Ben Nevis.  Lots more pictures here.   http://www.uncled8249.co.uk/scotland2011.htm    That walk wasn`t bad for a load of Flat Norfolk boys :)
