Following on from my first report, after summiting Fairfield I made my descent to Great Rigg. I was walking on snow and noticed that the southern fells seemed to have a lot of snow as well. Conversely, the NW fells hardly had any. It was a view of two halves. When I got to Great Rigg I decided to descend to Grasmere via Stone Arthur. I hadn't visited Stone Arthur before and Grasmere is my favourite Lakeland village. I got back to Grasmere shortly after 3pm and got the 599 service back to Ambleside at 3.30pm. The descent from Fairfield to Grasmere took 1.5 hours.
