Title: Pennine way
Post by: Lumberjack72 on 21:19:46, 11/04/19
Hi all. Looking to do Pennine Way with my wife soon. Going to do it in stages as work and kids keep us otherwise occupied 😀.
Going to do south to north as we live in notts. The question I am asking is it feasible to do :
Day 1 Edale to Crowden
Day 2 crowden to Blackstone edge
Day 3 Blackstone edge to Hebden bridge.

Looking to camp and wild camp along way. Are there any campsites at these places or any good secluded wild camping spots anyone can suggest.
Thanks  O0
Matt

For campsites vist the National Trail website

https://www.nationaltrail.co.uk/pennine-way/plan

If you are fit and used to carrying a pack the schedule is doable provided the kids are not with you.

There is a campsite at crowden with a little shop, good toilets/showers. I camped at the carriage house pub for my 2nd night which i think was only a fiver, good food beer and toilets with showers and even a bath!

When I first walked the PW (1973), the first night was the Youth Hostel at Crowden  (closed down in 2014)

Hi campsite at Crowden, met a person who wildcamped at the back of the Whitehouse pub( Blackstone Edge) and I’d recommend camping at New Delight Inn on other side of Hebden Bridge or you can camp at the Aladdin’s Cave shop for free.
