Having just watched 'Best Walks with a View with Julia Burdbury', I was wondering what sort of backpack she was using. On a little investigation I think I have found the item. Getting one of these would eliminate having to wrap up everything inside in plastic bags, or using a
waterproof cover which I find flaps around in the wind.
Has anyone on the Forum used one? I'd be interested to have your comments.
Also, I think the programme itself could easily be a lot longer, if you take out all the adverts it only lasted just over 20 minutes.

Could be good for a day bag I reckon. Not so good for overnighters where stuff gets wet anyway and then goes in the bag. But their sizes are aimed at day bags anyway

These are a bit cheaper, http://www.ewetsuits.com/acatalog/Dry-Boxes-dry-bags-uk.html#a778 I use a lot of their dry bags when kayaking there very good.

I thought there must be other websites with 'proper' waterproof gear and probably would have missed this one Owen, by not putting in specific terms in my search engine.

I don't understand the massive lack of proper waterproof hiking packs.
Mountain hardware do a good climbing pack called the scrambler OutDry but you can't dunk it in water like the Overboard and Aquapac bags.
I've thought about getting an Aquapac one because of the massive 2 litre bottle pockets.

We have a Snow and Rock near us, expensive I think! I bought an Exos 48 recently, £120 in S & R, £80 from an on line shop! I have been told that they will match an online price but have not tried to do it with them yet.
Would your choice show up cheaper on line?

The problem with water proof sacks is that they are harder to make due to the seams requiring to be taped, so tend to be more expensive, and they go against the trend for ever more so lightweight sacks as they are heavier.

I don't know what is used on Ms B's rucksack, but I must comment that my waterproof (allegedly) camera case has a waterproof (allegedly) zip around it, and this is much stiffer to do up or undo than a conventional zip.
I use the word allegedly because I still don't know how waterproof it is, or isn't. In the 18 months I've had it, I have miraculously avoided being out in a real soaker, and when that time does come I have a plastic bag folded in the case ready to wrap the camera in, because I'm not taking any chances.
