[TR] Thames path: Purfleet to Grays

Mondays local walk from Purfleet to Grays, bleak and industrial but loads of history. Can't wait to be able to get walks in somewhere nice once this lockdown is done!

Bleak, industrial yes but what a fascinating set of photos.
Some of the huge machinery is truly amazing sculpturally and I wonder what on earth it does but particularly I love the the rope swings from the overhead jetty - kids will find fun anywhere.

Thanks O0  Some graffitti I like, just tags nope not al all. Also depends on its setting where the graffiti is!

Great photos. I used to visit the Esso terminal at Purfleet which used to get the fuel for distribution by road tankers delivered by ship. The area along the river bank and sea wall was as you said bleak but full of history.

Used to regularly travel through the Dartford Tunnel when I was (a lot) younger.  I seem to recall my parents challenging me to see if I could hold my breath all the way through it  ;D


Not a fan of industrial landscapes but, like you say, the history can be fascinating  O0

Great photos and local landscapess  O0   

The industrial vistas make a change and add much of interest. Like most places, graffiti is a mixed bag, some of the murals are most artistic, others not so much. I agree with the spitfire comment - fantastic!.

Some great pics. Brings back memories of a trip on a friend's boat down this stretch of the Thames some years ago.
