You certainly get some interesting shots!

I'm lucky at this time of the year to see some fantastic sunsets from the house...

Here's one of the many..... A gap appeared just in time, in-between the stormy clouds....

Two great photos. The clouds almost look like a layer of flying saucers!
These boots are made for walking.... so long as the rest of my body agrees

First pic - lovely classic lenticular clouds caused by the airflow rising and falling after passing over high ground, rather like the way ripples form in a stream after the water has flown over a stone.  Because of the clouds they are formed, they stay stationary as the air flows through them and yes - they have given rise to flying saucer reports.

They are much loved my glider pilots as the air is rising along the leading edge.  If you can catch the lift it is usually strong and smooth and you can climb like a homesick angel while travelling considerable distances along them.  Last year I had the good fortune to soar one that had formed downwind of a volcano in NZ.  Probably the most fun you can have sitting down with your clothes on!

Pyrocumulus caused by the massive forest fires around Redding, Northern California in July 2018. I took this photo while hiking the Pacific Crest Trail. At the time I was not aware of these fires and learnt only a few days later what had caused this pyrocumulus.

Saw a miniature version in the Vale of Aylesbury in the days of stubble burning.  Stubble fires were a good source of lift so we used to take an active interest in them when gliding.  One day we watched one generate enough heat to pop through the inversion layer to start a nice cumulus.  There was a lot of energy about and  conditions were just right so once the hole had been made, the cloud continued to grow and eventually turned into a CuNim.

Used to happen a lot.  Friend of mine crashed his glider after flying over my house at Aylesbury.

Here is my contribution to cloud pictures.
Just a normal summer school holiday day in Cornwall.

I think that photo was taken on the "impressive Art" setting on my camera. I sometimes use it due to high humidity in the air as it causes the photos to look a little hazy on normal settings. The sea is pretty much that colour there at the Lang Ayre due to the red granite beach It was cold that day I think it was early November.
I walked the length of the beach and got a few snaps of Grey seal pups.
I will post one on the animals thread for you.
