Yes I finally got around to writing up my second day in the Lakes last month. It was a peaceful walk without seeing a soul all day.

Looks like you had a good time. Nice photos. Your picnic spot is awesome. I googled for "first light" to see what music you woke up to but there were lots of first lights. Which particular one did you wake up to? What artist/composer? Or is it just a tune on your phone?

Thanks Jon, I left my DSLR behind for this one and just used my mobile. I was facing the sun through the glen so I was pleased they came out okay with a bit of tweaking afterwards  O0

Great report John and lovely photos.  O0

I dont know how you resisted going up to the beacon but I suppose it saved you the horrid path to Threshthwaite Cove.

As I’d been to the beacon while doing the Kentmere Horseshoe. Believe me Mark, looking up at the climb, I found it quite easy to resist  ;D

Terrific day and great clear views.
That descent from Hartsop Dodd must be torture for dodgy knees, I remember the ascent from 20-odd years ago and we thought it was cruelly steep even back then in much fitter days.
