Sunday we got up late and went to Hatwhistle. We did a there and back again walk up onto the Hadrians Wall path.

The obligatory shot of the magic tree in Haltwhistle Burn

Cawfields Quarry and Hadrian's Wall

There was a bit of low mist over the higher ground

Beefy and Squeaky on the road to Cawfields

It wasn't that pleasant here, the wind was blowing right into our faces and it was really cold. We had our buffs covering our faces and we must have looked like bandits  ;)

On the way to Caw Gap

We stopped for our lunch in a sheltered dip to get out of the wind and then retraced our steps back to Haltwhistle. Our route was Haltwhistle - Burn Gorge - Cawfields - nr Caw Gap and return. 14km with 336m ascent. We must try to get up earlier on Sundays, we are getting a bit lazy.

No trip report from Saturday, we went to Newcastle for a family birthday party. We did a walk, just under 5 miles but I didn't take my camera. It was freezing in Newcastle, we had a nice walk along the Quayside but the cold made us finish early.

No snow but looked a lovely day A O0
Just prior warning I'm staying at the Sill yha for three days in March so you might want to avoid the area if you don't want to bump into me ;D

Lovely photos April    :)    I walked to Cawfields Quarry as an out and back along Hadrian's Wall from Walltown and really enjoyed it
