Woah, that's the best pics of the CMD Arete I have seen. How bad is it in terms of exposure/difficulty.

as far as arete's go its pretty wide and (as far as I'm concerned) there is no real exposure at all. I would argue that Crib Goch is "harder" in that it is narrower in places and therefore more exposed. I would say its on a par with Striding Edge but a bit longer; mind you its better than striding edge, in terms of the surroundings.
when we did it last year it was pretty windy and that didnt cause us any concern at all; I would have been more concerned being on many other ridges

I think what makes CMD more exposed is its weather. The weather can become really bad really quickly at that height for a sustained period of time.

Great photo's and report. I will just have to do it in summer, a bit different to when we did it in winter.

Fantastic photos. It must be a bit disappointing though to reach the summit and find it so busy :(

Wonderful report, and fantastic pics too :)

To think I lived right on the foot of "The Ben" for 13 years before I moved south - and never once did I climb it!

However, I hope to change that and get up there sometime next year :)
