Wild Horses
« on: 08:46:47, 10/09/08 »
Just back from Wales and a couple of weeks ago, after ascending Pen yr Ole Wen I was quite entranced with these wild horses :

I can't recommend the route enough, on a busy day on the Tryfan side there was half a dozen of us on the Carneddau side, the Carneddau are glorious and the Pen yr Ole Wen ridge is beautiful and elegant and a super ascent.

Absoluetly stunning, considering this instead of Tryfan first weekend of October, might be nice after the Snowdon horse shoe, to actually see some horses!

do it, it's super. Consider buying the Paul Gannon Rock Trails book as well for a background into the geology of the area. http://www.pesdapress.com/product_info.php?products_id=24

...  the Paul Gannon Rock Trails book ...

Thanks for this Ref!  I wish Paul Gannon would get to work on Scottish hills.  A geological companion guide  would be nice to walk with.
I think this next one will be the top ...

These ones reside in the Howgills near Cautley Spout

Mike - That's uncanny! Sure it's not a camel in disguise?

.... or a llama...  but the black camel/llama/rabbit/guinea pig/gerbil of busha don't have the same sinister ring, somehow...

Busha is Bush Howe by the way....
