Nice photos of an interesting landscape, Mel.
Yorkshire Wolds? I don't know the area at all.

I walked the Wolds Way a few years back and grew up near there (though I was mostly into cycling back then). https://summat-fever.blogspot.com/2015/06/wolds-way-day-1.html  et seq (when I used to do wordier reports with smaller pictures).

Composing more than a few lines of text in this forum is so painful I can barely be bothered to submit TRs. Hence this one being little more than captions for the pictures.

I’ve taken to composing them in a text editor and pasting them in but even then the forum software manages to muck them up.

One of the unnamed tarns on the col between Whin Rigg and Illgill Head

Majestic views towards Wasdale Head from Illgill Head. L-R Yewbarrow, Kirk Fell & Great Gable

Approaching Burnmoor Tarn while dropping down from Illgill Head

I’m sure Burnmoor Lodge is a lovely place to stay but it always reminds me of the shop in The League Of Gentlemen. I gave it a wide berth and made for the real head of Miterdale rather than the one marked on OS maps.

First views down into Miterdale

There was a lot of water coming down into Miterdale, this came as no surprise given how wet it’s been of late.

Flooded track nearing the car

9.3 miles, 1972 feet of ascent

This was the longest walk I’ve done since my hip operation but not the most ascent, I felt ok throughout the walk but was pretty tired in the evening so still much work is to be done on my fitness until I’m back out doing 20 milers. It’ll come though.

After a beating from rain and wind when halfway through a circular walk in the Glenmore area last Saturday. Monday had me on a circular walk from Kingussie with Creag Bheag as the high point and in the afternoon a circular over Creag Far leitire in much improved weather conditions. A circuit of the paths, on the following day, West of the river Feshie between Mill Cottage and Ballintean and finishing on Wednesday with the Pillar on the top of Torr Alvie.
Good time for seeing birds....Geese feeding on the grass in fields, Herons perched on nests on top of swaying Noble Firs and with the sight and sounds of the ground nesting spring visitors from the coast.... Lapwings, Oyster catchers and of course Curlews.

Had a good days walking along Ullock Pike, Long Side, Carl Side, Skiddaw, down to Bakestall and Dash Falls.
This one’s from Long Side looking down towards Keswick and Derwentwater.

Great weekend all, hope you’ve maybe got a walk planned too.
