The view from the cottage living room

The cottage is actually the single level extension around the outside of the main 2 storey building. The South West Coastal path runs to the right of the cottage in this picture.

Here is the link for the cottage we stayed at. There are about 10 cottages in the valley ranging in size and all allow dogs. http://www.vellandreathcornishcottages.com/holiday-cottages-in-cornwall-by-the-sea/basking-shark/

I like it around there.

Did you have a pint in the Old Success?

Is the wreck of the 'Mulheim' still there between Sennen and Land's End?

To my great regret Joester I didn't manage a pint, but I plan to go back so will no doubt manage it next year.  :(

The wreck is still there, although not very visible unless you get close to the edge  :o

Did you carry on south from Land's End? - Mill's Bay/Nanjizal can be fantastic (depending on whether it has got sand on it.  I went as a lad to it when it had a full covering of lovely, white sand.  My dad recommended it to a friend who then visited it the next summer.  You have to walk to it - he arrived to a cove full of green, slimy boulders.  A winter storm had washed all the sand away!).
You can walk back up to Trevescan and back into Sennen Cove on the bridleways.

The whole section from Land's End around to Mousehole is stunning.  Especially the heathland above Porthgwarra.

Joester we didn't get much further than Land's End as we had the dog and the path got a bit tricky in places. No doubt we'll get round in future.

I know what you mean about the changing shape of the beaches. Most of the week the beach had just been sand, then we had a couple of stormy nights and then tons of rocks appeared. I love it there especially given how quiet it was like Tabby said.

I was there at the end of October, when I walked from Padstow to Marazion. A lady in a shop in Sennen Cove was surprised by my request for an ice cream!

I must post a few of my pics from the walk - in fact I think I'll go and do it now!

Great photo's peapod.
If all goes to plan I'll be walking that part of the path in the summer.

Looks a lovely place to stay and walks from the doorstep.

You even had some sunshine which was unusual in 2012

Lovely, brought back memories for me too. First ever holiday with Mr WHW, touring Cornwall back in 1981. I think it was The Old Success Inn in which we stayed for a couple of days.
