Hello from West Midlands
« on: 17:20:36, 09/05/17 »
Hello

I am getting back into walking after a rather long hiatus.

It's been that long (15-20) years that I am having to learn everything again.

I would like to do Hadrian's wall in the next few years and I am planning to do the Yorkshire 3 Peaks this June with a team from work.

I have been training in the Malverns, White Peak and North Downs. I am planning to do the 18 mile Malvern end to end walk next week.

I have really enjoyed getting back into things but still need to sort a comfortable pair of boots unfortunately

Anyway 'hello'

Welcome form South West London.
It sounds as if you've already re-learned most of it!  I was walking on the Malvern Hills a couple of weeks ago and found it very 'challenging' i.e. I didn't manage the full 'end to end'. Didn't help that the weather was really hot then ??? .

Good luck with your projects.

.... I am planning to do the 18 mile Malvern end to end walk ...

That's from one end to the other - and back. The end-to-end is just under nine miles and the cumulative ascent is approx 2,300 feet (assuming you don't bypass any summits). Doing it both ways is a long day.
