Just wonder why there are so many Altberg boots for sale second hand? I thought they were well regarded on this site Was thinking of trying Altbergs when my current Brashers wear out.
I don't think there's any more for sale than any other brand and as already stated the vast majority seem to be military and police boots. The Altberg Walking/Hiking boots seem to be pretty thin on the ground by comparison.
I think you'd be surprised by the number of people who buy new walking/hiking boots full of the best intentions and maybe use them once or twice before deciding it's not for them and throw them in the cupboard. Time passes and eventually they come across them again and decide to sell.
There does seem to be a higher proportion of second hand women's walking/hiking boots for sale so maybe the Imelda Marcos shoe collecting disease is responsible for that.
The best advice I can give to anyone looking or thinking of buying is to go to one Altberg's Premier retailers to try some on and get properly measured so you know exactly what size and more importantly width fitting you need then keep your eyes peeled for a bargain in your particular size.
Bargains do occasionally appear but you do need to be patient and wait for the right boot in the right size and condition at the right price to appear for sale. The savings can sometimes be huge when compared to the cost of buying brand new.
