Walking trousers
« on: 19:15:46, 23/07/18 »
Looking for some walking trousers (preferably with a short leg length) that are slim on the legs. Basically something that looks like a pair of slim fit chinos if possible and I could wear to the pub after a walk

I'm a 34/30 if that helps

Cheers!

The Kiwi Pro Stretch version doesn't look too shabby either.

Wouldn't call the Classic Kiwis slim in the legs.

Haha, yeah maybe not slim enough, the pro ones look good, I've got some karrimor stretch that aren't bad, bit shiny though...

Going purely on “slim in leg” probably worth looking at Houdini range.

I got some (“Motion Light” I think) in  a sale a few months ago. Reasonable material, zips on all pockets, which is useful.

Worn them a lot in last few weeks. Okay, but certainly for those like me with skinny legs.

Rohan trousers, and if you have one of their latest catalogues, all sizes and waste measurements are £30 inclusive of delivery.
Their almost identical to a pair of Mountain Equipment Freestyle cotton trousers i own,  and they were purchased new back in 1983, and still have years of life left in them.

Montane Terra pants, they come in all black as well as the black and grey clown pants.
Really comfortable and dry in minutes.

A vote for Montane Terra pants + Rab Torque, both extremely good quality & fit.

I've always used a pair of Columbia trousers, comfortable, hard wearing, washes easily, dries quickly, no complaints at all.

The worst trousers I ever bought were Peter Storm, they rubbed my knees red raw when hiking up long slopes. Good for wearing to the pub though.

My Freestyle trousers have just about worn through - and I only got about 25 years use from them.

Wow they must have had serious use.
I own two pairs, the 1983 ones, that have discoloured terribly, but are in A1 condition, no damage to the zips, and no tears.
The others, were bought in 1992 or there abouts and may outlast me.

The original Rohan Bags, as they used to be called, are almost identical in design, and the polycotton is very long lasting.
