Hi-Gear Walking Boots
« on: 10:25:59, 24/10/18 »
Hey,

I am in the market for a new pair of walking boots.

I seen a decent pair in GoOutdoors that I tried on and felt ok, but am wondering if anyone has worn a pair before.

Or if anyone has a recommendations will be great.

Budget is £100 max

Thanks

Given your £100 budget my advice would be for you to go to your local Go Outdoors and have a look at the Scarpa Delta GTX Activ Men's Walking Boots @ £198 https://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/scarpa-delta-gtx-activ-walking-boots-p20555

If they fit/suit your feet get  Go Outdoors to price match here https://www.snowandrock.com/p/scarpa-men-s-delta-gore-tex-active-B1122414.html which should reduce the price down to £108.

That's only slightly over your £100 budget but there really is a world of difference between the build quality of the Scarpa boots and that of the Hi-Gear boots. I'm sure you will find it's £8 well spent.  ;)

The price at Snow & Rock hasn't gone up and has been £120 for a while.

If and when you ask for a price match in store at Go Outdoors they should beat Snow & Rock's £120 price by 10% (£12) which gets the price down to £108. https://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/price-guarantee

Depending on your needs perhaps could consider Bergahus Superlites. I have had three pairs and like them a lot. Lots of cheap pairs all over4 the pace the last time I looked.

Ah ok, didn't know about the extra 10% thought it was just the price match not a bit extra.

Thanks for clearing that up for me.
