Naturehike Mongar tent. Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh, in about two months time.

Keep us updated please, it's one I've looked at myself but just haven't taken the plunge.

Will do! I bought it on Amazon so paid £129, which was £15 more than using AliExpress, but I think it is worth it for peace of mind. I've gone for the green and grey option as planning on getting the vestibule which comes in grey only.

Wouldn't mind but I got that Zephyros 2 the other month and I've not even used it yet. Think it'll be a bit cramped for me and the lad, but having to use it for a two night trip in a couple of weeks. The Mongar looks to be more roomy.

Not actually my latest walking kit purchase but I need it to decide about purchases and much more besides, so my subject is about my internet provider. I've been with TalkTalk for about 5 years and have always paid £19.95 a month. My contract ends this week so my plan will now go up to £22.00 a month, I am happy with it but I want faster speed. I enquired and have now got my faster speed for £1 a month, up from 35 to 67, whatever that means???

So from Friday, I'm paying a total of £23.00 a month, I'm happy with it and it comes with the guarantee that they will not put up the price with the contract period, and they are going to send me their latest Router, with no charge. More importantly, my wife is happy with it and she can carry on making calls to other TalkTalk friends without any phonecall charges!

My reward from her is a cup of coffee and a custard tart!

The Nature Mongar looks like a cracking tent for the price.
Not to heavy and good waterproof rating. Like the 2 door set up as well.
Good luck with it. Be interested to hear how you get on.

Bought a lightweight sun hoodie at last.

The other half some new trousers. My boy some new boots as he'd outgrown the old ones! And a cheap £25 4 man 'tent' - not really for camping as such, more of a beach shelter type thing for holiday next month!

MSR Hubba NX 1. I haven't had it out on the hill yet but spent 2 nights in the back garden in the howling wind and torrential rain last weekend. I'm very pleased with how it performed. Not the cheapest backpacking tent but worth every penny in my opinion. Looking forward to a high level camp in the Lakes before too long.

After a long time thinking about one, finally bought a Paramo Fuera windproof smock, on offer at Cunninghams in Hawes
Yet to try it as torrential rain is the order of the day,(and most of the week !!)

My cheap Regatta Great Outdoors trousers arrived by mail order and fit perfectly.  The first time I have bought trousers mail order.  I can see this catching on.  The high street is doomed thanks to COVID 19, if it wasn't all ready.

I also drove to Go outdoors to by a climbing helmet, only to realize you can't try anything on in store.  Happily that also fitted, when I tried it on in the car park on the way out. :)

I went to Go Outdoors today to buy a lantern and a pillow. I didn't buy either. I bought a couple of Wayfarer meals, the all day breakfast to be precise. Probably wasted my money but thought I'd give them a go on out trip for future reference.

I needed a stove for emergencies if my gas stove ran out so bought a Fire Dragon burner which was only £3 and the fuel which was around the same price.

I ended up nipping into The Range to use their loo and looked at their camping gear and ended up buying the lantern from there at a cost of £3 and I also bought a micro-towel for my son. I just need another trekking pole and a decent pillow for the trip and then I think I'm all done.

This is the lantern I bought which I feel will be ok for a few hours in the little tent as it is small and light. I'll get something more specialised later.

Someone said you can try on up to three items of clothing, although helmets might be considered different though I suppose.

No nay nothing none, was the brief given to all shoppers entering the store.  The very sensible reason being to prevent spread of Covid 19.  I was also told, if I returned my PPE had it not fit in the car park test, then it was to be quarantined for 72 hours before being returned to the shelf. Usually you simply cannot return PPE, once worn. So compromise that works.

A 3F Lanshan 1 tent. I haven't tried it out yet as my garden is too small, I may have to go to the village park to practice putting it up before trying it out in the wild.

Wouldn't it be an idea to have just bought another gas cartridge 'in case the gas ran out' ?
Now you need to carry two different stoves and two different fuels (those solid fuel tablets are very smelly and sooty and can taint the food)

I used them regularly when with the army youth team (because they were free) but for 'personal use' they are not as good as gas.

They have approximately half of the 'heating power' that gas has and are heavy for the heat generated.

The solid fuel tablets produce 8Wh per gram
"Camping Gas" produces 14.2Wh per gram

But gas comes in much heavier packaging!

Nobody said anything to us about trying gear on, in fact there was no one at all to give instructions when we went in.

I've previously bought one of these which isn't great for balancing a pan on, I've discovered:-

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ultralight-Camping-Portable-Outdoor-Backpacking/dp/B08BFJ2RZ3/ref=sr_1_62?dchild=1&keywords=Ultralight+stove&qid=1594750385&sr=8-62

I'm thinking of buying something better after I get back but not sure what will be best, so what I bought today is just a cheap thing as a last resort in case I run out of gas, or the first stove I bought is too unsafe to use.

Will maybe get a Trangia set but will do my research first. I will probably be asking the forum about that when I get back lol.

True.
