Mendip Hills: Ebbor Gorge
« on: 15:51:26, 31/10/17 »
Not wanting to over Gorge people! This is Ebbor Gorge. I did a nice day in Wells prior. On way back to Cheddar. I saw signs for Ebbor Gorge and spontaneously decided to do a walk. Just plotted a unplanned walk on the OS and off I went.

Ebbor gorge is far less commercial then Cheddar Gorge. Again free and in the week not many people around, so really have time to explore that crack alone!

Enroute to the Gorge (can just see Glastonbury Tor in distance)

Rather be walking

A lovely place. Really enjoyed this walk. Though it might be a bit less secretive now!  ::)

Just learned how to host re-size. These might provide better clarity! ::)

Pictures came out great.  O0

I've never heard of Ebbor Gorge but it looks like a beautiful spot and the view from the top is tremendous.

It's right near Wookey Hole, which I assume grabs more of the tourist exposure.
So Ebbor Gorge might get overlooked by many!

Many thanks for the photo comments.
I have done a few walks in the past on trips, but only discovered this forum earlier in the year.
Not sure how many trips I'll get away with in 2018, as may have to return to that cumbersome thing called 'work' again after taking a year out!

A nice walk this one and not many know about it.
I enjoyed Ebbor Gorge more then Cheddar Gorge.
I like the less commercial places as such. Naturally things like Glastonbury Tor etc, you do just have to do them at some point!

Lovely pics nesty (both sets of them!).  I've also not heard of Ebbor Gorge but I had heard of Wookey Hole.

I'm feeling a visit of the area in general coming on next year  :)

Thanks for posting them and the route  O0
