Well what a contrast today, from my eerily bewitchingly walk out to Cranmere Pool and the Ted Hughes memorial, in thick fog, last weekend.  Mrs G and I enjoyed a beautiful cool sunny day walking another short section of the SW coast path.  We enjoyed a tasty pastie and chips for lunch in Boscastle, along he way to High Cliff. :)

First (semi) wild camp with my 11 year old son (and dog) down in the dunes at Dingies Howe, Orkney; our local beach - he slept like a log!

I walked over the South Downs today from Newhaven to Lewes via Firle and Glynde. One of those gloriously hot and sunny days when it's so lovely to be on the downs    :)

First walk in the rain for months, yes actually months! today with our WI walking group.  We headed to Aldbrough to explore the new / diverted paths now the Tansterne biomass plant has been built.  I forgot just how delightful the feeling of wet grass on trouser leg bottoms is  :D

A short walk up from St Agnes beach to the Beacon. Then on to view some fine examples of tin mines, which Mrs G told me featured in Poldark.  Then back along the coast path, via St Agnes head, to the beach and a very fine wine bar?

Out on Bodmin moor today.  I walked area from Killmar tor out to fox tor and back via Greymare rock.  An area I had not walked since I was in my teens. A most enjoyable day. O0

I walked from Shoreham today over the South Downs, past Lancing Ring Nature Reserve, to Coombes. At nearby Botolphs, which is on the SDW, I crossed the bridge over the Adur and walked by the river back to Shoreham.  A pleasant mix of downland and riverside walking, with panoramic views, and masses of berries on the hawthorn.  Warm and sunny   :)

Out on Dartmoor again today. 13 miles with the walking group, around Staple tor to Peter tavy area.  Rubbish weather to start.  Really quite cold.  Then the sun came out after lunch, every thing dryed out and all was good with the world.  Enjoying the fitness benefits from the Lake district walks too.  Dartmoor is suddenly a lot flatter than it was. What a great long weekend that was.  Started Thursday straight out to Bodmin moor after-work for a jog up Brown Willy before dark.  Then another small stretch of SW coast paths, with Mrs G on Friday. Followed by a cracking walk out to Cranmeer pool on Dartmoor today, with the walking group. I actually have sun burn, in late October. :)

Did the Limestone Way & Lathkill Dale on Saturday with the group.  About 30 of us attended! :o
Think I'll stick to week-day walks. :D
