Title: Skiddaw
Post by: Peak Bagger on 20:53:48, 02/08/06
I am off to the Lakes in a few weeks and would like to do Skiddaw as a warm up. I have already climbed it via the main tourist route from Keswick but would like to do a different approach.....any suggestions?

The best route by far (And much quieter) is via Ullock Pike, Longside and Carlside, you can make your own path back directly off the Western side of Skiddaw itself or continue to Bakestall and back via Dash Falls.
Hope this helps.

Luckily I live nearby - in Whitehaven - and do get out as often as I can, I've climbed Skiddaw many times but this is the route I keep returning to.  Even Ullock Pike on its own is a great walk.
