Great Trip Report and photo's Tracey, forgot how beautiful that area is and to think its only 50 miles from me. Must be 20 years since I have been to that area.  Mildale is that lovely village with the stream, isn't it?  I remember the burning fires and one very beautiful garden just on the outskirts.

When I camped at Wetton some 28 years ago, my friend and I would cycle to that village most evenings.

Thanks for the comments guys, muchly appreciated  O0

Julie, yes Milldale has the river running through it and a lovely stone bridge that you cross to continue along to Dove Dale.
Gets mad busy during hols though - but I forgot about that when I decided to do the walk!
Mind you, that was nothing compared to Dove Dale, hence the decision to leg it up the nearest hill out of the way! :D

Tracey :)

Lovely walk that Tracy through the dales, yes Dove Dale at the stepping stones gets busy at the weekend and holidays but a few minutes walk away it's generally a lot quieter. I know that area very well but for some reason I've not walked there yet this year.

Thanks for the great pictures.  O0

 Hi Tracey
I have only ever been down this way once before , it would seem that I missed quite a bit out , will have to sort out some holidays so I can redo the bits I missed  out on ..
However one thing that sticks in my mind was the sheer volume of people at the stepping stones. Unfortunately I had to stick to the low level paths all the way & and couldn’t escape them: - your photos have just shown me what I missed. Now I just have to go back and see for myself. Thanks

It's a shame you have to miss out on much of the White Peak, as there's such a lot on offer.

Nice report and lovely pics!  O0

Last year, I bit the bullet and visited Dovedale again. Usually, I try to head for higher, quieter areas of the PD if I can, but I planned a route through there as it had been so long since my previous visit.

It is very busy, but it is very beautiful - as your pictures show.

What I did do was climb Thorpe Cloud for the first time in decades - what a view from the top!  O0
