While looking across the the Great Slab.
And in answer to henry's question .......... quite possibly O0
Or ...... ?

Not sure how to rotate it back to vertical (which is how it was photographed and how it appears on my laptop :-[
I took this Sunday 30th September, while walking from NDG to Pike O'Blisco - across to Crinkle Crags and down The Band & back.

In answer to the question posed in the thread title: no.

While looking across the the Great Slab.
Only been up there once, and that was decades ago! Glad that my memory hasn't let me down. :)
Just open your photo on your PC with any photo editing software, or even Paint; they all have simple 90 degree rotate functions.

Needs more 'lake'

It's a beautiful view; but I'd hesitate to say it's the best, as I think it is subjective to people about what they consider to be the best view. My own favourite is from the top of Walla Crag, looking down on Derwentwater and away over to Bassenthwaite...and if I ever learn how to load a pic on her, I'll put it on. It'd be nice to see what views hold a special place in others hearts.

As someone about to make their first visit, I'd be interested to know what your favourite is Percy.

Glorious photo Henry. Nice to see something along one of our planned walks for the weekend. Especially when it looks so spectacular!
-
It is a cracking view but i'm with Dave_P on this one............. needs more lakes.
My personal fave is looking west from the top of Grey Knotts / Brandreth, looking down both Ennerdale and Buttermere, out to the Irish sea. If it existed, its what heaven would look like :)

One of my favourite views is from part way up Loughrigg

Where to start? I could list dozens but looking at the list on your other thread I’ll mention one:
The view of the Langdale Pikes from Blea Tarn is much finer. It’s on a thousand calendars for a reason.
And then contradicting myself and going on a bit:
I particularly like the Scafell Massif as viewed from the western side of Wastwater. Buckbarrow, Middle Fell, Yewbarrow, any of them will do.
Mosedale from Dore Head.
Great Gable along Wastwater.
Buttermere and Crummock Water from anywhere between Red Pike and Haystacks.
Buttermere from Fleetwith Pike and vice versa.
It may be a tiddler but the view from Dodd is amazing.
Looking north from Brock Crags
Along Ullswater from Arnison Crag.
I’ll stop there!

Or this from the Back of Grange fell

Percy, that's a mega response, thanks very much!
Fills me with anticipation for Blae Tarn, might aim for sunset or sunrise there then. And most of the rest (the ones I didn't have already) have been added to my hitlist.
Appreciated.

I've got a photo from a very similar location but yours looks much better. Maybe I should get myself a Sony DSC-RX100 instead of using my phone for a camera, although it's a bit disappointing as my phone was rated the best camera phone of 2015, it's one of the reasons I bought it. Here I'll put them next to each other for comparison:

Look how much better yours is.

Very kind of you to say so Rob. :)
I don't think a phone will ever perform as well as a camera. I sometimes use my phone when I've not got my camera with me but the results can be very hit and miss. The camera will have a better lens, bigger sensor and optical zoom and you'll have control of the aperture, shutter speed and focus.
Also, looking at our pictures, I'd say I had the advantage of better weather and a nice reflection, whereas it looks like your day was a bit hazy and overcast.
I shoot in 'RAW' format with the Sony and edit the photos in Lightroom so I can use software to bring out the best in the photo. A phone will almost certainly take JPGs which are 'edited' and compressed by default so your options for rework later are limited.
If you are into photography, then I would recommend getting a proper camera, and I do recommend the RX 100 it's a great camera. I also have a Canon EOS but don't often take it out because it's pretty bulky - that's why, after loads of research I bought the Sony. The Panasonic Lumix range (both compacts and 'bridge') are also very good. I'm sure others will also have their favoured cameras too. There are several threads on here about them. Have a look around the 'Photography' part of the forum to see what others think.
-
Maybe your photo looks better because you know what you're doing with your camera and Lightroom as much as having a better camera. I am into photography but only recently got into it. Thanks for the info I'll think about getting a better camera and learning Lightroom.

Don't really have a favourite view of the Lakes, though I often think something is fantastic and then my photo lets it down. I love this view taken in late November last year from Loughrigg, but looking the other way, and for once I think the photo is ok;

Maybe you're being too hard on your photos? I take plenty of photos and none of them look as good as
Hillhiker1's but they still look good, it's hard to take too bad a photo of the Lake District it's just so photogenic!

Nice pic Pdstsp! O0 O0

You should see the other 2000 O0 , but thanks - it was a lovely morning

Great Gable is the most photogenic mountain in the Lakes, in my opinion, with maybe Blencathra in second place.
All the shots below were taken on the same day - I just love the way the mountain changes as the light changes.

Hi Tim,
You missed one... the view from High Raise (Langdales). Then you can sit and try to name all the visible Wainwright Fells as you possible can :)
Cheers

Amazing photos Richard and Dave. Usually I'd be jealous as hell but as we've just been I can just enjoy them!
