YHA recruiting volunteer managers
« on: 14:03:08, 10/07/13 »

Hope it's okay to post this.

This is part of an email I have just had from YHA; I trained as a VM last year - it's just a weekend course where they provide bed and board (but not travel expenses). Telephone interview just basically asking about yourself and why you think you could do it, fairly simple (well, they accepted me!)

Autumn/winter/spring course for next year.

July 2013

Dear Volunteer Manager

We are currently recruiting new Volunteer Managers for 2014 so if you know anyone who may be interested in getting involved in the programme please encourage them to get in touch.

So if you fancy it get in touch with YHA for more info.

27th July till 3rd August. I imagine it will be a tad busy if this good weather is still with us then, what with it being school hols.

Stayed at my first Youth Hostel this week. I stayed two nights in Patterdale and it was fine - not as bad as I had previously thought.

I am now in a hotel, which is nice, but full of knobs although the staff seem ok.

In short, the YH was half the price and it was interesting to meet people from around the globe all of which were happy to talk and most of which had a common interest. But, it is nice to have a private toilet, shower and room :)

You've been missing a treat not going YHA before. The only one we've ever not had a great time at is closed now. All the others have used have ranged form good to brilliant.

Hope it goes well alewife, where will you be?

The knobs are so you can open the doors.

Toilet and shower not like N Nibley then?  ;)

With prices at Youth Hostels no longer cheap, why do they not pay for managers?
