Brings back great memories of climbing down it last summer.

I recall two things about coming down, first was meeting Lara Croft. She appeared out of the spray as we reached the pool, it was surreal. This gorgeous Eurasian girl stepped up from the spray in white T, stepping out of the rainbow. Said hello and walked past me. The ladies behind me confirmed it wasn't just an erotic hallucination.
Actually climbing down was fraught, can't see where to put your feet. People watching from below, who walked away looking disappointed when I didn't fall..  ???

These things never happen to me. I'm more likely to bump into Nora Batty  >:(  !

I've only been up Gordale Scar, but I can imagine it being awkward to come down.

That last shot is brilliant!

I was walking down the cove steps on Sunday, went past a couple who turned around about 30 steps from the top. He said in a very loud posh voice.. "well once you've seen one of these tarns you've seen them all... "   :o

I really don't understand why people bother making the effort to visit places if they don't get anything from the places themselves. I'm sure some do it just to tell everyone they've been.

Great photos FB.
Only just saw this and panicked when the first few posts had their photos missing - glad I continued and saw them lower down.

I seem to remember one of my friends telling me that Gordale Scar had been used as a filming location for one of the early 80s sci-fi movies I thought it was something within Star Wars but I find (Google) that it was ' The Dark Crystal '. Never seen the film myself but Gordale is very 'other Worldly'

It was my first nights camp after setting off from Skipton bus station on my Duke of Edinburgh Gold Expedition. Happy memories of that whole area.

Only a hill but all of life to me, up there between the sunset and the sea.

Interesting about it being used in The Dark Crystal, I never realized. I've seen the film but it was a long time ago.
