Pym Chair ,Peak walk
« on: 22:15:43, 23/09/19 »
As it was last day of good sunny weather forecast on Saturday :    temps 23C .
I decided to go for a local walk .
Started at the Car Park at Pym Chair .
( Lots of Cyclists out testing out their endurance and stamina.)
Near Kettleshulme above the Goyt Valley .
Nice dry sunny bright conditions.  Except  :o :-\ It was Blowing a gale very windy.
Anyway crossed over the tarmac valley road to pick up the well marked trail to Oldgate Nick up a steep paved flagstone trail as It gets very boggy here  came to Cats Tor .
With great view of forests down to the Goyt Valley .
The further  up trail to the highest point Shining Tor 559 metres high  .
Lots of Walkers coming and going .
With a good Panoramic view although hazy looking down to The busy A537 .  Across Cheshire Plain ,and landmark of Croker hill .

As the Wind was Gale force now  >:(  cancelled  :-[  going onto the Cat and Fiddle pub .
And diverted in a westerly direction  down a valley in the direction of Lamaload reservoir to get some respite from the strong wind .
It paid off . Nice warm sunny light wind.
Down the valley took a right turn heading North  at a stile to go down a deep clough  to Thursbitch passing some old ruins and a small brook now walking on undulating trail under the ridge of Cats Tor then down into a deep ravine of Howlersknowl ?
around stiles and gates of a farm out into a track uphill to come onto the tarmac lane leading up a very windey steep Incline to Arrive at the Hilltop and Car Park at Pym Chair .
Did mean to drop In to Look at Jenkin Chaple , left for another time .
A nice days walk .  ;) 8) O0
