Lovely, April - the fledglings are just so vulnerable though.

Smashing pics everyone  O0 Love the badger shot Karl, I have never seen one that is still alive  :(

Can I introduce you to a baby blackbird that is either an orphan or who has been abandoned by it's parents a bit too early. I have called him/her Babbity.

The poor thing doesn't have any tail feathers so it can't fly very well. I've been watching it for about a week now and it seems to be coping on its own, it is even having a go back at the bullying starlings. It comes to get food then hops back under cover in the hedge again. I am trying not to get too emotionally attached to it and I hope it manages to survive  :)
Watch out fluffy might get jealous  :D
Great pics everyone

We met this magnificent beast as we were walking back down towards Clun village in Shropshire today.

A night under silnylon. Doesn't have the same ring to it.

:( I haven't seen Babbity for over 24 hours now so I fear the worst  :(

Went out on my final Covid-19 walk as back to work Monday  :)  First picture I know isn't an animal but somewhere on there I noticed something else and was surprised how close I was able to get. Look at the right hand side of the mushroom and spot the grasshopper?

Wasn't long before the grasshopper jumped off into the long grass. In the fields further up met something a bit bigger.

A footpath lead through someone's grounds and had these cute pets

Having a rest and noticed this in the grass. At first I thought it was a dried out ladybird but have since learnt it is a Colorado Potato Beetle. Not good I guess for the farmer.

isn't Colorado Beetle is a notifiable insect because of the huge damage it does to potato crops

I came across a small herd of Heifers jostling for some tasty leaves off bushes in a corner of a field . I was in the other field so I got up close and personal .  These young guys always look handsome fellows , except when they are gallivanting towards you in an open field . ;)

It is indeed but Mark need not worry about it as the picture actually shows a Ladybird pupa (chrysalis).

This scene tickled me because of the cow at the back on the left. It seems to be craning its neck to look at me and see whats going on .  :) .
