Yes, a lot of rain in this part of the world today. The local Settle weather site shows over 50mm of rain today so far and roads in the area (Settle to Rathmell and Settle to Horton) are flooded in places as the Ribble has burst its banks. Rain has eased considerably in the last hour. The footage of the 3 Peaks walkers wading through the floodwater was taken on the farm road from Nether Lodge - there is another video online showing a longer clip and the second walker, at one point, stumbles and almost immerses himself completely. Almost pleased I'm laid up with a dodgy knee and can't get out  8)

Footnote to add - the walkers featured packed in after the wading episode and apparently just made for the Station Hotel at Ribblehead. They were on a fundraising walk too. More pics, videos and info on the North Yorkshire Snow Update Facebook page

Looking at the scenes there, I can see why they should stop..just too risky. The walkers at the beginning of the video, & the guy in front is walking with a stick & probing, but if he stumbles in a side gully who knows..There`s always another day, & good luck with their fund raising.!
A night under silnylon. Doesn't have the same ring to it.

I don't think this specific group was asked to stop, just an appeal was put out to stop anyone else starting. The group shown would likely not have known what it was like until they got there and it sounds like they were faced with retracing their steps back a long way or carefully cross that section to the road and then to the pub.
