Hello all.
Looking to do some walking in South West Lakes at end of Feb.Dont fancy the tent as dark too early which makes long nights.

Lakeland Camping Barns, YHA Coniston, YHA Eskdale, YHA Wasdale.  Probably loads of others if you want a simple B&B experience - as especially off-season it's cheap.

Have you tried Airbnb?

I would never use Airbnb on principle, owners try for maximum profits from tourism rather than let their properties to local people who need a home. It forces young locals away from the area and the area becomes a ghost of itself "off season".
Second homes are the same. There are hamlets and villages here in South Lakes with one property out of ten without permanent residents, so the shop, the pub, and even the church, all die for lack of support.
Sorry, quasi political rant, I'm not a socialist just someone who has had problems getting a roof over my head.

Sometimes farmstay.co.uk throws up interesting alternatives.
