Wilderness trekking with a dog
« on: 08:04:02, 08/01/20 »
Hi all, some years ago I saw an advert for trekking in northern Norway or similar. The main point was that you meet a pack of husky’s and when you bond with one you and the dog walk for around 7 days with the dog leading the way following a route they know . I now can’t find the info anywhere, has anyone else seen this ?

A short Google using “Norway dog trekking” turned up this on the first page https://www.visitnorway.com/places-to-go/southern-norway/setesdal/listings-setesdal/hiking-with-dogs/199025/

It is only day hiking, basically you pay someone to take their dog for a walk as far as I can tell. I am sure there is more to it though.

Thanks Nithace, I was looking for a planned weeks trip where they set up camp or cabin for you each nite, I don’t mind roughing it a bit but early spring that far north is a bit much for me,  I know it was available, will carry on searching  :)

It sounds dangerous to try to bond with an unknown pack of huskys.
