Just had a quick look at the TZ70 operation manual: my heart sank - it is 305 pages long!
Just give it a quick read to see what you need. Lots of stuff you will never use but some features are very useful.
For example, switching focusing mode can be really useful when trying to photograph something that moves. And the camera allows you to re-program a few buttons, so that you can switch to this menu with one button press. Also, I program one of the rings to have direct access to exposure compensation. These kind of things require some digging into the manual but are really useful. Once you have set this up, you have a very useful camera customised to your needs.
On the other hand, I never use any of the many creative modes. I want honest pictures and any editing (if necessary) is better done in Photoshop back home.
