We're all keeping our fingers crossed that the flooding doesn't get any worse.

Hope it eases off soon.
The extent of the 2015 flooding only became real to me when I was in Keswick recently. The owner of the B&B told me that where I was sitting in the dining room was then under four foot of water from the River Greta,

I too am watching the Cumbria weather forecast with interest as the place I'm staying this weekend is in a valley with a beck prone to flooding running through it. The site is currently on a yellow flood alert warning :-\
Generally though, hopefully there won't be a repeat of a couple of years ago and no residents will be affected.
-
Sadly there has been reports of some homes being flooded, the rain has stopped for the moment here in Carlisle but more rain is due tomorrow night and Friday. It looks to be better after that though so we are all keeping our fingers crossed up here that there is no repeat of Dec 15.
-
Was going to be in Buttermere Sunday but may need a plan B now. Thoughts with everyone affected.

Yeah let's hope it doesn't happen again

Well, I'm in Calpe, Spain at the moment. Just been to the Irish Bar, 2 pints of Murphy's and a stroll home, a warm balmy evening. Just had 2 days of stunning sunshine. Given a choice though, I'd rather be in the Lakes. Came to Spain via Bilbao, loads of Police cars at the harbour, quite a sight!
-
The flooding isn't just in Cumbria either. I'm in the Yorkshire Dales at the moment and there is flooding everywhere here. It rained all last night and all day today. The forecast is sounding better for tomorrow but I think the fields will be too wet for walking. :(
-
After an optimistic lack of weather warnings this morning, more heavy rain seems to be forecast for tomorrow now, along with a yellow flood warning :(
I'm also looking at a Plan B as Helvellyn is looking increasingly unlikely for me to throw myself up ... again (that bluddi mountain doesn't want me to climb it >:( )
I'm saddened to hear that some homes have already been flooded during the past couple of days' rain April :(
-
Have a good time in the Lakes Mel, despite the weather not being so good. We are heading eastward this weekend, the weather looks a bit better in Northumberland. Fingers crossed it stops bleddy raining :(
-
I'm in Keswick now and it's raining surprise surprise, booths have sand bags outside ready for it the poor boggers :(
-
It's not too bad here, where I am, which is west of Keswick. I've just checked the George Fisher webcam, which points at Skiddaw, and it doesn't look very good there.

Talking of webcams. George Fisher's are planning on placing some fibreglass sheep, with built-in webcams, on some of the fells. It's all to do with their 60th Anniversary. I hope they anchor them down good and proper, because it's going to get pretty windy soon.

Have a good weekend Mel, whatever you end up doing, and try to avoid a yellow flood ???
-
Narrowly avoided a yellow flood by stopping at Wetherby services!!
No sign of rain yet but I'm a fair way down the country still :/

;D at least there are no snow warnings
Hope Ophelia keeps away and you have fun
-
You should've headed south, Mel. It's shorts and shirtsleeves weather down here! 8)
-
Hope it's clear there Mel. Hate to rub it in but it's a scorcher here today, near where you live :D
-
Ahhh. But fernman. I dont have free accommodation darn sarf :/ !!
bricam - yeah but I'm in the Lake District and you're not :P
To be fair, the weather has been better than I expected. It's very mild with a sort of intermittent mizzle. Someone's chopped the tops off any hills over about 500ft though :D
Got a nice low level autumnal waterfalls walk in yesterday. Discovered some new walks not on a map for further exploration when the weather and visibility is a bit better :)

Thanks. Didn't spot the date on that article, which was 1st April, until you mentioned it Strider. :D :D Thought I hadn't seen any of those weather sheep up on the fells. ::)
-
Well it was calm and sunny here (south Scotland) around 4pm, howling gales now as the remnants of H. Ophelia move in.
-
I trust most people saw the orange clouds and the red sun this afternoon? It was so dark at 3 p.m I needed lights on in the house.
For anyone who missed it:

Only grey skies here when the storm came in, maybe we get the dust cloud tomorrow.

Are you sure that free digs is what he was offering?

Obviously, being pure of thought and deed, I have no idea what you're alluding to Ridge ;D
