Hi,

I'm the Race Director of a new event "Pennine268" which is aiming to create a supportive and competitive environment to run the whole of the Pennine Way.
In this inaugural year the route will be done North to South.

It would be great to hear your thoughts on this.

Robert

Sounds like another one for Slogger!

Good luck with your race,I am sure it will be a success.

Tony, Robert probably doesn't know who 'Slogger' is. Robert if you read this I am Dave Lee, I was on one of the safety teams during this years Spine Race, and have been on the starting line 3 times and became the 1st over 65 year to enter and finish in 2014, failing the following year due to a chest infection. I know Javed.
Tony Robert and Javed (Back to back Spine this year) are the organisers for the Pennine 268's inaugural race 2017.
Scott of the Spine Race is also organising a Summer edition in 2017, so there is somewhat of a clash, however the 268 is being run as a North to South whereas the Spine edition is going South to North.
I am unlikely to participate in either as I have the Winter Spine in January and Offa's Dyke Ultra in September, apart from that I have much of my own stuff to do.
Dave.

Dave, any idea when the summer one is planned?  I'm walking the Way again in May so wonder if I might see some of it?

The Summer Spine edition, dates yet to be confirmed, the Pennine268 I believe is due to start on June 10th, Kirk Yetholm.

It does'nt look like he did it. I'm sure he would have been back on here to let everyone know if he'd completed it. Wonder if he ever even started?

Its unlikely that anyone who was preparing to break 7 days for the PW would be seeking advice on forums. The experience needs to be there before contemplating such a challenge.
