Today's walk: http://peakwalking.blogspot.co.uk/2016/10/high-bradfield-low-bradfield-rails-and.html
Gymnastics, resisting the cake...and a chair I can't sit on.

Always worth a visit to that area. Brings back memories for me :o

Nice pictures Lee. Love that chair O0

Lee, you don't by any chance put up GPX files or maps of your routes do you?

Hello Robry. I'd love to, but I don't know how to do it. I can get the OS maps on my screen...but that's it - I can't really work out how to use any of the interactive features. Sorry.
I'll try and have a little play with the features again some time...but it's all a bit fiddly for me.

Nice walk that, I do a similar one quite often from Hillsborough to High Bradfield and get the bus back.
Hillsborough is a good starting point for a few decent walks. Handy with the tram going into Sheffield station as well.
-
I went a couple of miles further north on Tuesday, to Oughtibridge, which looks like I can use as a base for quite a few walks over towards Barnsley.
-
I skirt past Oughtibridge going through Wharncliffe & Beeley wood from Middlewood tram stop (to Stocksbridge) - another decent walk.

No problem. Do you use the OS Maps app on your phone? If you 'Record' the route you can save it as a public route and it can be searchable by others. You can also find the .gpx this way too. I tend to use a combination of the OS app on my phone to record my route and occasionally navigate if I'm off course and use paper the rest of the time.

I don't have an internet capable phone - I just access maps online at home. I've had a bit of a look and the OS maps aren't fully interactive [I need to pay a subscription] and one mapping site was rubbish, it didn't show any features useful to a walker.
