Hi all,

Diecided that my latest venture is going to be hiking/scrambling climbing (damn my love of the outside and adrenaline)

Anyone have any tips on where to get started?

Cheers

Mik

Hi Mik, and welcome.
That rather depends on where you are.
most urban areas have hillwalking/climbing clubs. The Mountaineering Council of Scotland (or The British Mountaineering Council south of the border) have information on these on their websites.

If you hang around in the meets section here you'll also see that things are arranged, fairly informally.

I'm from the lovely area of Lancashire, so not to far from the yorkshire dale and Pendle way is a stones throw away,

I'm hoping to take my dog with me as she's the only person I can rely on to keep up with me without moanin lol

I climbed Pendle in the wrong shoes this weekend so first thing is a set of boots, been looking at a set of Karrimoor KSB Boots, already have A Mera Peak that I use for walking the dog in all weathers so Im sorted in that respect.
