Orrest Head, apparently - according to Alf (I hates women, me) Wainwright.
Its at Windermere. It shouldn't take more than an hour, including looking at the view.

Alternatively, you could just look at the Wasdale webcam. This involves virtually no effort at all.

Do you mean Watendlath?

On the east side, there's some boggy moorland, but on the West side of Watendlath, there's some very nice little tops with views over Derwentwater - King's How, Brund Fell etc. They're a bit rough going in places, though.
Walla Crag has good views - car park just below it by Derwentwater.
Latrigg 's fairly simple from the car park just North, but as this is the highest car park for Skiddaw, it gets fairly busy.

From either end of Derwentwater for little effort.....Castle Crag or Latrigg.

For the best views of the Langdale Pikes .....either Lingmoor or Blea Tarn.

For all round views.............Loughrigg

The list is endless.

One of the best views is from the edge of wast water looking to the screes. Doesn't matter what the weather is it always looks foreboding!
