hi guys,im new to the forum, just looking for some great local spots to go wild camping just pitch up on the fly, within 10 miles of lancaster.

Surely the essence is to find your own sites rather than share them on a public forum, especially in the current climate. Try heading up behind the University beyond Abbeystead towards the Forest of Bowland.

last time i tried that i was shot by a rice gun,
i could just like you say just venture out,i was just looking for a rough idea as im not originally from north west area.

Have a look at
www.gps-routes.co.uk
, click on walks in England, then the county that Lancaster is in, I'm sure you will get a good suggestion list with free OS maps as well.

Lake District is just up the road from you, Johnny. Unlikely to have problems there as long as you camp on the fells beyond the field boundaries.
