I don't recall any trail to reach Chlamain well, when coming down from the Munro, must be fairly recent and of course fifty years or so is a long time even in hill terrain. The odd think about the only time that I went out to the Tarf Hotel was the lack of any sort of trail. I guess there may have been one under the snow cover and as I have looked up now on the PC that there is quite a long history of the usage of the several buildings that have graced that site.
As my wee logbook reminds me of several visits over the many years have been made to the area around the Tilt. From the Loch Moraig below the path to Carn Liath I have reached the Corbett Ben Vuirich and I just had to connect, all three of the hills of the Beinn a' Ghlo range during another visit, dropping down from Airgiod Bheinn to return to parking near Loch Moraig.
With the off road bike over the years starting from home to get over the Minigaig pass using the estate track from Glen Feshie the round trip involved Glen Tilt, Bynack Lodge ruin, The Geldie path over to a descent into Glen Feshie to get back home. On a warm summer evening after work I pedalled up Glen Tilt, left the bike close to the Tarf bridge, then over on a path to Fealar Lodge to reach a happy group of D of E folks for see if all was going well. They young folks were all fine and had a grand time talking with the estate folks who lived there. For me a fine wee run back down the Glen into the setting sun.
It has always been a pleasure to be in the area.
