[TR] Vicar Of Dibley Walk
« on: 21:05:52, 06/02/18 »
On the 5th of February 2018 I walked my recce of The Vicar of Dibley walk set in Turville in the Chilterns, walking to Mill End and back. I plan to walk this again with The Walking For Pleasure Team South East group on 11th March 2018. A great walk but my legs ache after 12 miles and 4 big hills.

blog below.

Nice to see a report from my day-walking country!
The good photos put mine to shame, which is why I've yet to post a Chilterns TR.
Thanks for sharing,

Great Place Turville, and beautiful countryside. Never done the walk, but been to the pub for a pint a few times!

Fascinating mixture of historic village scenery, wildlife, weird church tower architecture, several kinds of mill and then the Thames at the half-way mark.  And all those film and TV locations!  I wonder why the area is so favoured by media people? I don't know any of the countryside your walk went through, apart from Hambleden Lock (from walking the Thames Path years ago and, even then, I was on the south side of the river).  I will aim to visit the area sometime soon as it's not hard to get there from where I live.
Thanks
John

That looks like a lovely walk and I might try it myself! I've completed quite a few walks in that area of the Chilterns and I'm always looking for new routes, so thanks for posting.

Here are a couple of my routes:

My partner and I love walking in the Chilterns and the area you walked I think is the best part. If you have the chance you should try the Sunday lunch at the Bull and Butcher the food is tip top. Thank you for posting your TR
