Most kind.

It helps a lot that the birds are not at all perturbed by people and we could get very close. The seals were more tricky: that was taken from a boat that was moving up and down on the swell, and I was standing up trying to keep the camera steady and not fall overboard.

Where were the photos of the sea birds and the seals taken?

We've just returned from a holiday on Skye and the only wildlife I spotted were two rabbits and a pheasant, and these were in the garden of the B&B we were staying in.  :(

LOL, it's often like that, especially in a nature reserve in our experience - the one place you can almost guarantee to see no wildlife of note.

It was on Staple Island, part of a disjointed trip of ours that ended up as a series of day walks. More pictures here, that boat trip is great value.

Funny that I should see this just after someone else posted pics. Walking along the edge of the marshes we saw this cormorant fast asleep on the bank. I was able to get to about a yard from it and then went back to get Sheena. She used her camera phone (hence poor quality) and stood taking pics of it, also from close up. I could easily have caught it, it was so deeply asleep! Once we took the photos we moved back and it woke up. Poor thing must have wondered what the hell was going on!
