Hope he is not navigating using his Pennine Way guidebook, although it is an excellent book it is a bit heavy to run with!!!!!!   Seriously though such admiration for these ultra runner types.  Fingers crossed for yet another record to be set.  Wonder if John will be running a stage with him??

Day 2 video now released, bit tough/wet (as usual) by Tan hill. He hasn't shaved!

It is just so outside our comprehension. Perhaps if we were all fell runners it would make more sense, though still be amazing.

I don't think many fell runners would be able to replicate his results. He is one of those rare people who are capable of racing ultras,be it on the track, road or fell.

He stopped for 45 mins at Dale Head.I presume this was to collect litter rather than rest. ;)

Still going strong with two and a half hours in hand. Enjoying this armchair running! I think I read that someone else was planning an attempt on the record this summer, I wonder who

It is.

Interesting that he is eating no animal products during his run. It isn't affecting his performance. Although I didn't expect it to, my vegan diet hasn't slowed me down any. Getting older, fatter and more lazy has  ;)

Looks like he's going well, I reckon we could see a new record set yet again, he seems to be consistently well ahead of his splits and a consistent pace.  How do they do it, can only admire these efforts.

Just think how much quicker he could have been eating "proper" food! ;D

I know it is daft but he is approaching one of my favourite bits - walking over the M62 that I travelled daily from Manchester to Leeds daily to get to work. OK perhaps not favourite but enjoyable to cross over the bridge whilst watching others dashing to work!

He is just going over part of the PW I got to know very well when I was travelling down to see beefy. I loved Northern Rotcher and Millstone Edge  :)

2.5 hours ahead of schedule at Crowden - the record is in the bag, barring injuries.

Damian and I have different views on political things and civil actions to get certain points across, but there's no denying he is an excellent ultra runner and this PW run is outstanding. However, I did beat his age graded time for the 2014 Spine race! ;D

He has been at Hern Clough for around half an hour.Bit suprised that he is taking such a long break with the finish in sight. His speed has dropped to 2.4 kph.
