Magnificient day on Mellbreak part one
« on: 18:23:49, 10/09/19 »
Glorious sunshine and blue skies loomed on the horizon over the lower fells in the western Lakes last Saturday as I arrived in Buttermere on the honister rambler. I had been thinking of the high stile ridge but with some intermittent clouds over the summit I opted for the lower fells in this instance. I had climbed Mellbreak before from Buttermere but had returned to Buttermere on that day. Last week-end I opted for an A to B walk from Buttermere to Low Lorton taking in low fell later that afternoon. Low fell report to follow. Total distance was 22.5 km.

Thanks Strider :)  Most picturesque valley for me is Buttermere though Great Langdale/Ennerdale/Newlands Valley offer strong competition :)

Some lovely photos, Henry - that shot of Grasmoor is particularly fine (2nd photo).

Lovely pics Henry  O0

My computer's wallpaper screen is very similar to your first pic (I think I took the pic from a little further along the shore path though).

Great photos Henry and it is Great Borne and Hen Comb. I had to consult with Mr Wainwright about it  :)

I see there is a part 2 so I will now have a look at that one  O0
