Saints Way Questions
« on: 17:39:34, 13/10/18 »
Hi, A friend and her partner are considering walking the Saints Way. Can you answer her questions?

1. what guide is best to use for this walk which we hope to complete in 4 days?
2. I understand that you can get a book stamped at churches along the way but where do you get the book?
3. We will be based in Padstow and on the first day walk a certain distance and get a taxi or bus back. On day 2, we will drive to wherever we finished the day before, do the next part of the walk and get a taxi/transport back and so on until we finish up in Fowey. With this in mind and knowing the car will be left for some hours, any suggestions for towns/places to head for on the route with adequate safe parking?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Suzanne.

I should google/check before jumping in :-
Was this walk the subject of a documentary earlier this year (unfortunately featuring some celebs) - The Camino Santiago  ?

That looked a fabulous walk and one I would consider doing.

Might be an idea - the Camino Santiago is in France/Spain, the Saints' Way is in Cornwall.  Or was your post a windup?

I don't know about that documentary.
I can't stand programmes like that. I remember one about walking the South Down Way, I through that would interesting then I notice they were filming the same sections of the way but from different angles and times of the year :o  :(

No wind up, thought it was the English naming of the French/Spanish walk.

To return to the Q. ViewRanger appears to have a route for the Saints Way too. A user called Nicholas Griggs has published one. Nothing on gpsies or haroldstreet.

Sorry for the ambiguity everyone. Saints Way in Cornwall.
