Futile effort, it's easier and better for the soul to avoid them in the first place wherever possible  :). Seek out the god forsaken wild and deserted corners (there are a few even in the Lakes).  ;)

Loratadine seems to work for me.

I use that too, along with nasal spray and eye drops.
