Title: Trails w/ estimated times: Grantham-NewarkonTrent-Doncaster-York-Darlington

Anyone here know of any trails between these locations, and an estimate of how long it takes to walk it?
 
Favouring short distances slightly above beauty, but a mix of both would be idealI'm intending to walk from London to Edinburgh to get away from my computer screen, and 
 
Sleeping's not too much of a problem as i'll be bringing my hammock, and have couches arranged in most towns. I'd prefer to avoid walking roads as much as possible.   Here's the full planned route:  
London
Stevenage
Cambridge
Peterborough
Grantham
Newark on Trent
Doncaster
York
Darlington
Newcastle
Jedburgh
Edinburgh

if you know any nice trials i'd love to hear from you,

Has the idea of walking the A1 'done a runner' ?

it just sounds like a horrible walk. it'd be quicker, but i'd enjoy it far less

Google's not going to be 1/10th as accurate or useful as people who live near and walk those trails
