eastern fells Horseshoe walk query
« on: 10:59:00, 11/07/17 »
I'm thinking of doing a circular walk in the eastern fells in September from Ambleside. The fells I'm thinking of doing are Red Screes, Little Hart Crag, Hart Crag, High and Low Pike. Is is better to start on the red screes and finish on Low Pike or vice versa? I've done the Fairfield Horseshoe and think it is better to start on Low Pike and finish on Nab Scar as one is walking into the best scenery in the second half of the walk. Does the same principle apply for Red Screes? Thanks, Henry

It is a long time since I descended Red Screes to Ambleside, I ascended the ridge more recently. From what I remember of the descent I think I would rather descend from Low Pike but like the best direction question on the Fairfield horseshoe I'm sure others might disagree  :)
