I went a walk in the Low Weald of Sussex today, from Isfield to Upper Wellingham via picturesque Barcombe Mills on the river Ouse. A very pretty walk in gently undulating countryside, with a profusion of bluebells and wild garlic. A beautiful spring day.

We had a pretty disappointing week in the Lakes last week due to almost continuous rain. This was compounded when my normal "wide angle" lens died on me. I did, however, have an old 50mm lens in my bag so I decided to experiment a bit by taking a number of different shots and trying to stitch them together with a basic photo stitching application (Autostitch which can be downloaded free from the web). I honestly expected this to be a complete waste of time but was pleasantly surprised with the results including this shot of Coppermines Valley. Not the best shot I have ever taken but an interesting experiment nonetheless.

This photo was taken at the start of an 11-mile circuit, just a mile from home. Walking via Bitell reservoir, Alvechurch, Barnt Green and Hopwood, in Worcestershire.

Now along with the lovely sunshine, if temperatures were to rise, and the rain kept off, it would be perfection, or maybe that is asking too much. :)

A small sample but of the 5 finishers in this years Barkley Marathons I think none of them wear Hoka. All Inov-8 and La Sportiva I think.

He has a 40mm titanium screw holding his head on, after coming off 18 months ago, should any one question it's validity.

The best news though he won the club championship the other day, with a fine spirit from the bunch and has taken up track cycling.

Blimey that is some xray!

Herman Munster but the opposite angle for the bolt.  Dont even want to imagine the worries that treatment would have brought on.  Fair play to the lad for carrying on  O0
