A recent TR posted by Harry prompted me to have look at some very old TR's of my own, mainly those featuring snow!
Rather than post my own photos on someone elses TR for reference (as I've done with Harry's :-[ ), I thought I'd post a few links to my old TR's instead.

adalard made the comment that he'd never seen so much snow at Back Tor before...and it got me thinking that it might be nice for newer members to see TR's which might be of interest to them...but that they probably aren't aware even exist. :D

Anyhow, I've found a few from Winter 2010, showing some of the best snowy walks I've done in the Peaks....

Stanage Edge (the best walk I've ever done up there)...

Hope a few of you enjoy them!

Just found this TR, which was a walk I did from home as couldn't get the car out! As well as lots of snow, there was an incredible Hoar Frost, the likes of which I've never seen since.

Just spent a very happy half hour looking through those TRs, Sunnydale, and all I can say is, "Wow!"

So many beautiful shots I wouldn't know where to start singling out favourites. Some of those wind-sculpted drifts are like works of art, just incredible!  :) O0

I was hoping you might take a look adalard, so thank you for taking the time :)  Yes, the wind works it's wonders on snow, creating the most beautiful shapes and sculptures. 8)
I saw similar drifts in 2013, especially on Stanage, although there wasn't quite as much snow around that year.
I think that was the last year we had any significant snowfall.

Great to look through those past posts, having been fortunate enough to have experience thed 1962-63 winter in both N.Wales and at home in the Shropshire countryside, your lovely images makes me realise how digital has made it so much easier to capture memories. Film was so expensive in relation to earning power, especially for a college lad, but those photos stirred memories of the sheer scale of the snow drifts.
I remember going across the Cerriguddrion moors, on the back of a motorcycle I had hitched a lift on, the A5 was like being 15ft down in a crevasse with barely enough room for the oncoming traffic to pass.

Great photos Tracy O0

Just noticed this post  :) I've looked at your first TR of Stanage Edge - Wow. Stunning shots sunnydale  O0 I think that must have been the year when the snow in the Lake District last for months and months. I will catch up with the other reports later on, lunch now over.
