The bluebells are starting to come to full bloom in Hallerbos in Belgium. There might be equal or more spectacular forests covered in bluebells in the UK, but for some reason it has gotten some international recognition and attention in the last couple of years. And now people are flocking from all over the globe.

Most colourful flowers here in Orkney right now are dandelions - seen some spectacular displays in the sunshine today, masses of them.

Why do people hate them so much?

We have the same lion teeth flowers in our garden. We also get plenty of buttercups and daisies. If it is green, then it’s the lawn - grass, moss, whatever. In north eastern Scotland it pays not to be choosy with plants. If it grows, it is a garden plant. I assume it may be somewhat similar in Orkney.
