Hello from GoneWest
« on: 15:50:21, 08/04/20 »
Hello all. I'm Peter and I live in Cornwall with my partner, Jan. We often walk together but when the planned walk begins to look like more of an expedition, she tends to revert to her gardening and I go on my own.
Normally, of course, we have plenty of varied walking opportunities near home and I am glad that, even in the current situation, we can still use the local lanes and tracks (the public footpaths aren't up to much in our vicinity, anyway), and get into a few fields and woods.
Until the current outdoor restrictions are relaxed, you might find me posting mostly on technical topics such as navigation and safety.

Welcome again, Peter. I live in South Cumbria and am fortunate to have some delightful country right on my doorstep. Off out with the dog this evening, in fact, to catch the sunset from the top of Hampsfell.

Welcome from Aberdeenshire. I live on the edge of a village and can get into some countryside from my front door, either on small roads or paths.

Many of us right now are (re)discovering the highlights of our own backyards.

Welcome from Devon :)

I've experienced some of those Cornish 'footpaths' :/
So many paths yet to walk, so little time left
